We all fight them. They creep in when we least expect it, pinning us to the couch, or hammock as the season warrants. They make us whine with boredom and seemingly unmet expectations. They’re coming… the summertime blahs.

Well friends, there just may be a way to kick those pesky summertime blahs to the curb. We live in one of the most active states in the nation. You don’t have to climb a mountain to get up and do something — there’s plenty to choose from and this edition will help give you some options.
For example, think back — way back for some of us — to the excitement of learning to ride your first bike. Or how about when you upgraded to your first ten-speed? Back then bikes meant a new level of exhilarating freedom. Maybe your kids are going through that childhood rite of passage right now. If so, I recommend you join in!

You are in luck, Longmont has some of the most fun and unique things to do on two wheels, with the whole family or without, this summer. Group rides, a new type of biker bar, and rolling, floating sculptures top the list. Or keep it simple and just roll out the front door for a tour of your own neighborhood. Make this the summer that you recapture your youth, or relive it with your kids — on two wheels.

If biking isn’t your thing, we’ve compiled a list of summer events sure to please. From concerts to carnivals in the street, to extreme sports in the mountain air.

Whatever your preference, don’t get bored, get out. Enjoy the warm weather while it’s here. Before long we’ll be back to cursing the snow shovel and scraping the cars.
